CHANTICLEER-A CLASSIC BURGER YACHT

CHANTICLEER - A CLASSIC BURGER YACHT ONCE OWNED BY FRANCIS LANGFORD SHOWCASED ON NEW WEB SITE

Harbor Springs, MI (USA): Originally built for Ogden Phipps - one of the dominant figures in thoroughbred racing in the 20th century, CHANTICLEER claimed its place in history after it was purchased by Frances Langford. Her trademark song, "I'm in the Mood for Love" and her many USO tours with Bob Hope endeared her to many fans. In 2008, CHANTICLEER was acquired by her present owners, Marty and Lisa Sutter, who have continued to renovate the boat extensively. Although those who remember CHANTICLEER best from her years owned by Langford would be hard pressed to recognize the same vessel today, the Sutters have paid appropriate tribute to her ownership of the vessel by designating the VIP stateroom as the "Frances Langford Stateroom", where posters of her movies, photographs and other memorabilia are prominently displayed.

In 2008, CHANTICLEER's home port is Harbor Springs, Michigan, where she is currently spending the summer touring the fresh waters of Lake Michigan. During the winter months she will be based at North Sound, Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands.

The Sutters are also the proud owners of another historical boat "Canim" a 1930 Ted Geary designed 96' wooden fantail motoryacht (http://www.canim-yacht.com). Their passion for history was what first caught their eyes when they viewed CHANTICLEER. She was a perfect fit to be the "step" sister ship to Canim. Canim's home port is also Harbor Springs, Michigan but currently she is spending the summer on the east coast touring Newport, Martha's Vineyard and various ports around Long Island Sound.

In early 2009, the Sutters hired renowned photographer, Neil Rabinowitz, to photograph the yacht in the British Virgin Islands. Those exquisite images are showcased throughout the web site at http://www.chanticleeryacht.com.

Web site visitors will find specification for the yacht with information on its history and the latest news on past and future voyages.
